Taking Art Lessons from a Master!

In June(2008) I got to live a dream!!! Not only did I get to meet the famous Artist Charles Reid, but I got to take a workshop and work one on one with a master. It was amazing that I was able to get into the workshop many had been on a waiting list for two years. He only comes to Seattle about every 4 years. It was surprising that they kept the workshop small...about 18. And to have him give personal instruction was beyond words. His wife Judith who always accompanies him was a bright spot in each day. I learned alot about doing portraits. He is considered a master in the figure and portrait. Oh..I forgot to mention his main medium is of course...Watercolor! I am excited to work on faces. The pictures here are photos I took while Charles Reid was painting, the model is named Saddutz he is of Alaskan heritage, he works at the "Center for Wooden Boats" in Seattle, teaching old style canoe building.
